Wedding cake inspiration

It’s one of the biggest photo opportunities of any wedding, which is why every couple wants a beautiful cake to cut for their big moment. But there are so many different designs, flavours and styles to choose from, deciding on the perfect cake for your wedding day can be a daunting task. To offer you a helping hand, we’ve rounded up a few of our favourite options to give you a little inspiration on your search…

Monochrome

Madison – Abigail Bloom Cake Company

This three-tiered, timelessly-stylish black and white wedding cake will never go out of fashion. You can choose from 10 different flavours of sponge (plus two fruit cake options) and it’s covered in soft fondant stripes. This contemporary cake would work beautifully in a modern space, such as the Orangery at No.11 Cavendish Square.

Quirky

Autumnal Walks – GC Couture

This five-tier cake adds a fabulous sense of fun to a wedding reception. The apparently toppling layers look to be bursting with fondant flowers and the succulent cinnamon sponges are covered in smooth fondant icing. This cake a great choice for couples with a classic style who want to add a twist of personality.

Chocolate

Love Box – ChoccywoccyDoodah

This innovative chocolate cake has a luxurious chocolate cake enclosed in white chocolate box, with beautiful heart-shaped reliefs revealing the prize inside. For a true crowd-pleaser, you simply can’t beat chocolate.

Floral

Bees and blossoms – Rosalind Miller

You can’t beat a traditional, floral wedding cake. This pretty design by Rosalind Miller uses subtle blues and pinks to create a show-stopping, garden scene. A classic design like this would work well in a period setting, like the Garden Room at No.11 Cavendish Square.

Cupcake tower – Crumbs and Doilies

Of course, you don’t have to go for a traditional, tiered cake. Lots of couples opt for a beautiful stack of cupcakes. This tower, created by Crumbs and Doilies, is a mixture of Red Velvet, Vanilla and Chocolate cakes and beautiful red roses. Other flavours available include Salted Caramel, Jamaican Ginger and Cherry Bakewell – there are literally dozens to choose from though, so there will definitely be something to suit your taste.

Cheese tower cake – House of Cheese

Choosing a savoury option instead of a sweet one will go down well with lots of your guests. This tower of wheels uses a cream-enriched Brie, a Single Gloucester, a Wensleydale and Fourme d'Ambert, but you can choose your own cheeses so you can serve your favourites.
