On 6th July we held, in partnership with Square Meal, a Gong Bath session here at No.11 Cavendish Square. The event went fabulously well, and we received very positive feedback from many attendees.
We welcomed our guests at 8am with a healthy breakfast with fresh juices and smoothies, to include a granola station with soya / Greek yoghurt – goji, coconut, cranberries, honey, compotes etc; sliced fruits, gluten and dairy-free cakes; crushed avocado, chilli, spring onion and soft-boiled hen’s egg on rye; orange and pomegranate juice; fruits and vegetables blends (kale, apple, celery, etc); tea, coffee and herbal drinks.
The therapeutic gong bath session started at 8:30 and took place in our delightful Orangery - an airy space bathed with natural light via the glass, apex ceiling.
It lasted 45 minutes and the event ended with light refreshments before members of our team took guests on a guided tour of the venue.
We waved goodbye while guests took away gift boxes containing pomegranate, almond and orange cake (gluten and/or dairy free) and a dried berry, apricot, cocoa, seed and nut bar.
All food was produced in-house by our caterers Food by Dish.
What is a Gong Bath?
A gong bath (or gong sound meditation) is a sound massage for the body and mind. Gong Baths are one of the most soothing, body detoxifying, rejuvenating, holistic vibrational ancient tools.
Simply lie down or find an alternative comfortable position, close your eyes and just let the resonant sound of the gongs wash over you. Within about 20mins, your brain and body relax into a state that can allow sleep or even visualisation.
When the session is over, you may feel like either 2 minutes or a few hours have passed, but either way you will feel amazing!
How does a gong bath work?
Everything you see around you is vibrating at a frequency, whether we hear it or not (yes, wifi and all those gadgets we love give off a frequency too). Sound frequencies can affect us on a cellular level, influencing how we feel and function.
Therapeutic sound healing practices like a Gong Bath uses vibrational sound and frequency to help reduce stress, alter consciousness and create a deep sense of peace and wellbeing for better health. Essentially, you go into a deep state of meditation and relaxation, then the real work begins as you are bathed in the gentle sound waves.
First-timers were amazed by how easy this type of meditation is as the tones carry you away to where ever you need to be without judgment or inner criticism.
We hope this article made you want to try a Gong Bath yourself and reap the many benefits it can offer.
