Sustainability

As home of The King’s Fund, we’re committed to integrating sustainable best practice into all our day-to-day operations. Read on to learn more about the key targets and activities we’re following as part of the Carbon Reduction Plan.

Reducing carbon emissions

As part of our pledge to mitigate carbon emissions, we’re working towards the following targets:

  • 30% reduction to 1,032.64 tCO2e by 2027.
  • 50% reduction to 737.6 tCO2e by 2030.
  • 100% reduction by 2050.

What we’re doing today

Here are some of the measures we’re putting in place in partnership with The King’s Fund to meet our sustainability goals:

  • Procuring 100% renewable electricity
  • Replacing approximately 90% of all lighting systems with LED fittings
  • Installing lighting PIR throughout the building
  • Installing a voltage optimised to significantly reduce consumption
  • Replacing IT technology with energy-efficient equipment

What we’re doing tomorrow

As well as the action we’re taking right now to be more sustainable, we have our sights set firmly on the future, too. By 2030, we plan to take the following actions:

  • Review and improve building insulation and lagging
  • Replace all non-LED lighting
  • Continue to roll out PIR lighting controls in more spaces in the building
  • Include energy-efficient criteria in our procurement practices
  • Replace gas cookers with electric inductions hobs and ovens
  • Improve data capture across all relevant emissions reporting categories
  • Engage the team in carbon and emissions reduction
